Customizing Viewer Layouts

Each Viewer within RealTime gives you the ability to customize the layout to your exact specifications! The layout you create is unique to each Viewer, letting you select different layouts for Viewers, Portfolios, and UniSearch. You can choose the sort, the number of stocks to display, the fields shown or even the font! The Layout Window will also allow you to create custom fields and make changes to your color scheme. Make as many changes as you like, the original Viewer layout can be easily restored with one click of the mouse.

 

Accessing the Viewer Layout Window:

  1. Select the Viewers Tab.

  2. Select a Viewer (Stock, Industry, Sector, ETF, Market Index or WatchList)

  3. Right click on any Stock, Industry Group, Business Sector, ETF or Market Index..

  4. Click "Layout...". A window will appear, showing you the columns which are currently being viewed (right), as well as a list of fields that can be added to the layout (left).

   

 

Adding Fields to the Viewer:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. To add a field, use the scroll bar for the left panel to locate the field, or click on any of the fields on the left and start typing the field name. The fields are grouped by category, but can be alphabetized by clicking the '"Grouped" Button.

  3. Use the right arrow to move the indicator to the Fields Shown Panel.

  4. Click "OK" after making your final selections.

 

Removing Fields from the Viewer:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. To remove a field, use the scroll bar for the right panel to locate the field you're interested in, or click on any of the fields on the right and start typing the field name.

  3. Use the left arrow to move the indicator to the Fields Hidden Panel.

  4. Click "OK" after making your final selections.

 

Changing the Column Order:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Use the scroll bar along the right panel to locate and select the field you would like to move, or click on any of the fields on the right and start typing the field name.

  3. Click the directional arrows to move the field up or down to the desired location.

  4. Click "OK" after making your final selections.

 

Changing the Default Number of Records:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Type the number of rows to display in the selection box, or click the "View All" Button.

  3. Click "OK" after making your final selections.

 

Changing the Viewer Font:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Left-click on the current font.

  3. Select the new font type, style, and/or size you would like to use in the Font Window.

  4. Click "OK" on the Font Window.

  5. Click "OK" on the Viewer Layout Window after making your final selections.

 

Creating Custom Fields in the Layout Window:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Click the F(x) Button.

Restoring the Viewer Defaults:

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Click the "Restore Defaults" Button.

  3. Click "OK" on the Viewer Layout Window.

 

Using the Layout Window Splitter:

The Splitter Bar is a line of dashes in the Layout Window. This Splitter allows you to 'freeze' the columns situated above it, so that these columns are always viewable when scrolling.

  1. Access the Viewer Layout Window (read instructions above)

  2. Left-click on the Splitter Bar in the right panel.

  3. Use the directional arrows to move the Splitter Bar up or down, as desired.

  4. Click "OK" on the Viewer Layout Window after making your final selections.
