AI data centers are only going to need more and more energy in the coming years. Nuclear is the one carbon-free power source that can deliver at this scale, which has made the best nuclear energy stocks an even better opportunity for a savvy investor.
Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon have all signed long-term power purchase agreements with nuclear operators. Not to mention the US government has just backed domestic uranium enrichment for the first time in decades.
But what companies are best positioned for the road ahead? We dug into the VectorVest stock advisory and uncovered 5 of the top opportunities right now. Learn more below and start building your watchlist!
Sneak Peek at the Best Nuclear Energy Stocks (2026)
- Cameco Corp. (CCJ): ~$108. World’s largest uranium miner + 49% Westinghouse stake. Q2 realized uranium price: $93/lb.
- Oklo (OKLO): ~$42. Advanced fission microreactors. Achieved first criticality in Q2 2026. A really solid growth opportunity.
- NuScale Power (SMR): ~$9.70. Only NRC-approved small modular reactor design. A newer stock with the potential to be a key industry player.
- Constellation Energy Corp. (CEG): ~$282. Largest U.S. nuclear fleet at 22 GW. Q2 revenue: $7.5B.
- Centrus Energy Corp. (LEU): ~$188. The only domestic producer of HALEU advanced reactor fuel here in the USA. $4.5B backlog.
What Are the Best Nuclear Energy Stocks to Buy Now?
This list features companies from every step of the nuclear value chain: upstream uranium supply, next-gen reactor technology, fuel enrichment, and large-scale power generation. We found everything from profitable blue chips to pre-revenue moonshots, so no matter what you look for in a stock, you have options.
We want to make it clear that the best nuclear energy stocks are a bit of a moving target, though. What’s “the best” today could be overvalued tomorrow. Especially given all the regulatory factors at play. VectorVest’s stock forecasting tools keep your watchlist up-to-date, surfacing the most lucrative opportunities at any given time.
Whether you’re trying to find stocks you can buy and hold for a few years or you want to capitalize on volatility in the here and now, VectorVest empowers you to win more trades with less work. Here are the top nuclear energy stocks thus far through 2026.
Cameco Corp. (CCJ)
The biggest publicly traded uranium miner in the entire world. Cameco Corporation actually owns just under half of Westinghouse Electric, too, so it has really good exposure across the whole nuclear fuel cycle.
Q2 2026 revenue came in at $588 million with a realized uranium price of $93.13 per pound – a 15% improvement year over year. The company is holding strong on production guidance at 19.5-21.5 million lbs of U3O8 for the full year.
CCJ is up just shy of 8% through 2026 so far, but has been rallying hard in the past month or so and could push toward all-time highs if it keeps up its pace.
Oklo (OKLO)
You’ll see a lot of talk about OKLO when you search for the best nuclear energy stocks. This company is currently designing and building Aurora microreactors that will power data centers with recycled nuclear fuel.
This is not an established player in the nuclear energy realm. Far from it. Oklo just recently achieved first criticality at its Groves isotope reactor in Texas during Q2. It reported a mere $1.2 million in revenue with a whopping $48.5 million net loss.
That being said, Oklo has a long runway with $3 billion in cash and zero debt. It’s a speculative play, to be sure. But that might be exactly what you’re looking for. The stock has been pummeled through 2026, down 45% YTD. Something to keep an eye on if you’re looking for undervalued opportunities that could pay off big time in years to come.
NuScale Power (SMR)
NuScale Power is another interesting opportunity if you’re trying to stake your claim in the nuclear energy sector. This company holds the only NRC Standard Design Approval for a small modular reactor in the United States, giving it a massive head start over any competitor.
Q2 revenue was essentially zero. But the company is pivoting out of its engineering phase, so that’s to be expected. It has $1.9 billion cash on hand with no debt. NuScale is in talks with Tennessee Valley Authority about a power purchase agreement for the ENTRA1 project. This could yield the first U.S. SMR deployment.
Now, SMR isn’t going to pay off anytime soon. This is a long-term play, like OKLO. But we saw the stock hit $50+ per share just over a year ago. It sits at less than $10 per share now. Another option if you want to place a bet on something other people may not be looking at right now.
Constellation Energy Corp. (CEG)
Constellation operates the largest nuclear fleet in the U.S. at roughly 22 GW. This is also the biggest carbon-free electricity producer in the country.
It brought in $7.5 billion in revenue during the second quarter, which was up 23% YoY. The company also beat the consensus estimate with an adjusted EPS of $2.55. The nuclear fleet ran at a 93% capacity factor during the quarter.
What really makes Constellation an intriguing opportunity is the long-term deals it has secured with massive companies, including a 20-year deal with Microsoft for 835 MW at the Crane Clean Energy Center.
The company pays a dividend as well (0.61% yield) and raised its full-year EPS guidance to $11.50-$12.50. CEG is down 22% this year, so a positive earnings report could be just what the stock needs to climb back into the market’s good graces.
Centrus Energy Corp. (LEU)
Last but not least, we have LEU – the ticker for Centrus Energy Corporation. This is the only domestic company licensed to enrich uranium up to 19.75%. It’s the sole producer of HALEU here in the U.S., which happens to be what most next-gen reactors require.
Q2 revenue grew 14% to $176 million, while the backlog was boosted up to $4.5 billion through 2040. Centrus has a $900 million DOE contract to scale commercial centrifuge production here within the country (specifically in Ohio), in which the U.S. Government is hoping to cut dependence on Russian enrichment.
It’s perhaps the most volatile nuclear energy stock right now, but that might be exactly what you want as a swing trader. It could be a good long-term buy-and-hold play, too, as the stock is down 28% through this year but could be ready to work its way back up.
